Autumn has never been my favourite season, but with my 5 top picks to battle the cold weather, I've started to appreciate the beauty of it.

THE CHUNKY KNIT JUMPER.

There is no denying the practicality of thick, knitted jumpers for the colder months - but there is no need for them to be eyesores. Personally, my favourite is the reasonably affordable H&M Basics Deep V Neck Jumper in Navy. However, if you wanted to splash out, Topshop have the softest jumper range with intricate detailing and beading. Expensive but well worth it.

THE PUFFER JACKET | JACK WILLS.

The Jack Wills Canwick Puffer is potentially the warmest coat I have ever worn, with the snuggliest hood you can imagine. Not only is it cozy, it's waterproof and has three huge pockets (my tangle teezer actually fits in the side pocket!) A coat is definitely an essential to help you brave the colder months.

THE HAT | MISS SELFRIDGE.

A burgundy take on the classic black floppy hat. For bad hair days, add a hat. For lazy 'hide my face' days, add a hat. For some colour in your outfit, add a hat. Miss Selfridge and H&M have the best ones in my opinion, and some places even do XS hat sizes for small heads like mine! Always a bonus!

THE HUNTER WELLIES.

Why am I wearing wellies without snow? Because no one likes to have wet feet. I don't exactly jump in every puddle I see when I'm wearing these, but they definitely help protect my feet and keep me warm in the typical Welsh weather.. Also, I have tiny feet, so buying the children's version made them much cheaper. Hunter Wellies come in the most stunning colours, I've definitely got my eye on a powder blue pair.

THE NAIL VARNISH.

Autumn is the season for dark plum and purple shades, but I can't resist adding a bit of sparkle in the run up to Christmas. At the forefront of the photo is H&M's 'Prim and Proper', the most perfect rose gold sparkle. If you're in the market for a nuder nail varnish, maybe for school or work, Topshop's 'Cafe Au Lait' is a perfect dusky nude.
